Dear Parents/Guardians,
On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, your child will begin to take the PSSA Assessment Tests. Below is a schedule of when your child will be taking the tests.
GRADES 5,6,7,8 April 23 – 25 ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS
GRADES 5,6,7,8 April 30 & May 1 MATH
GRADE 8 May 2 & 3 SCIENCE
In order to have a complete set of test results, it is important for your child to be present for all testing sessions. Therefore, this notice is being sent home, so you can note these dates and avoid making appointments for your child that might conflict with testing.
Please make sure that your child has adequate sleep. During testing, we will provide a free breakfast and have students walk or dance to get them active in the morning. We want your child to do their best on the test.
Your child’s teachers have been reviewing test-taking techniques and doing practice items with the students. They have also been emphasizing the importance of the tests. Parents, would you please review with your child the importance of answering all the questions on the test. If there are any blanks on the answer sheet when the tests are scored, they are counted as incorrect answers.
All of us at the Rock L. Butler Middle School thank you for your cooperation in working with the students on the PSSA tests. We plan to have a trip to the Arcadia Theater to reward our students for their participation and efforts. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school.
