Robotics Teams Compete at States
Two robotics teams from Rock L. Butler Middle School, the Spark Flyers and the Seven Sea Pickles, competed in the Pennsylvania FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Challenge State Championship on February 15th at Palmyra Area High School. Both teams advanced after their performance at the highly competitive PA East Regional Championship on February 1st and 2nd at Malvern Preparatory School. The teams reached the regional championship as a result of their top 4 performance at the Tunkhannock Qualifier on December 15th at Tunkhannock High School.
There are 388 FLL Challenge teams in Pennsylvania, and the state championship showcased the top 36 teams. Teams not only compete in a robot challenge, but they are also judged in three other categories: Innovation Project Presentation, Robot Design Presentation, and demonstration of FIRST Core Values. The Spark Flyers finished 2nd in the Innovation Project judging and 11th overall. Their top 12 finish earned them a spot to compete at an invitation-only tournament with other high-performing teams from across the country. They will be attending the American Robotics Invitational at the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ on May 17th and 18th.

Congratulations to the RLB MS Robotics Teams!
