Educational Interpreter

The Wellsboro Area School District is accepting applications for a full-time Educational Interpreter beginning January 2, 2024. Must be able to provide students who are deaf or hard of hearing with interpreting or transliterating services in an educational setting.  To serve as an educational interpreter, you must meet the following qualifications:

          ●        GED/High School Diploma required; Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred;

          ●        Evidence of graduation from an interpreter training program or  relevant experience;

          ●        Ability to interpret/transliterate at a normal conversational rate in Signed English, PSE and/or ASL;

          ●        Ability to recognize students’ receptive and expressive language  abilities and adjust interpretive language level accordingly;

          Scheduled work days following the District’s 2024-25 School Calendar.  Competitive wages and benefits package.
